Whole30 Day 4… Going Strong
My mantra…. sometimes I need to tell myself this a few times. Like yesterday. Yesterday the struggle was REAL.
This morning, I woke up feeling refreshed, and WAY less on edge. Well, until it was time to get the kids ready and out the door, then the psycho sisters changed my attitude a bit.. but that is another story. We’re working on that!
On an exciting note, I am now able to drink my coffee black, or with just a splash of Whole30 approved almond milk, without grimacing. It’s not awful. I never thought I took my coffee sweet, but I am realizing since I began this, apparently I did. I am hoping my tastes adjust to the natural coffee flavor, because I love it way too much to not enjoy it the next 26 days. Money brings some people happiness. Coffee brings me mine. HAHA My sanity anyhow.
I still haven’t felt hungry or like I am being deprived since beginning this. The recipes are delicious and filling. I do miss my morning oatmeal. But aside from that, this meal plan is satisfying. I am still peeing NON STOP. So weird, not really sure how it is correlated, but I have read of other people experiencing the same thing. At least I know I am drinking enough, something I commonly struggle with.
One of my favorite things I have found to use as a post workout meal/snack are these amazing RX BARS. Seriously SO GOOD. I usually have half of one with 1-2 hard boiled eggs. I also will keep these on hand in case I am in the car and need something quick! I love that they have minimal ingredients, and very simple ones! I like some of the approved LARABARS as well, but these have a little less sugar. I didn’t even pay attention to the price when I picked them up at Whole Foods over the weekend, probably better that way! They are also hidden from the children, because they see them and think they are ” candy bars”… that’s how often I actually do buy them candy bars.
I forgot to post last night’s dinner, so I will share here! It was zoodles, which are SUPER easy to make. You can make them with a vegetti, spiralizer, or a similar kitchen gadget, or you can even buy them already spiraled in the produce aisle. I sometimes do that out of convenience. I sauteed in a pan with 1-2 teaspoons of Ghee (clarified butter), added some salt and pepper, and topped with all natural Victoria Sauce. I sided it with 2 chicken sausages from Whole Foods, spicy Italian flavor. They were SO delicious. The meal was so satisfying, and I had leftover so that is what I had for lunch today. I am getting plenty of healthy fats in my diet with this plan, so I am never feeling unsatisfied. Which is awesome. Remember the days where everyone thought things were healthy if they said “fat free or low fat” ? BLEH! All chemicals and added sugar, and nothing satisfying about it!
As I go through this program, I will be uploading WHOLE3o recipes to the recipe section of my website. And as always, I welcome your ideas and tips/suggestions.
Happy Thursday 🙂
