Thank you for taking the time to visit my site! I am so excited to be able to share my journey with all of you, in hopes to inspire some of you!
I am a wife and a mom to twin girls (threenagers!) , my 7 year old son and our fur baby Ryder! I am a health and fitness coach and a dietitian, but best of all is I get to do all these things now from home while being with my babies!
My health and fitness journey began before I was even a teenager, but it wasn’t always a pretty one. As an overweight child, I was on different “diets” since elementary school, and was never very active. By the time I got to high school I was over 200 pounds, and I had had enough. I began working out daily, and dieting, but not in a healthy way. I didn’t know how to eat clean or what was healthy and what wasn’t. All I knew was “fat” and “Calories’. I ended up losing close to 100 pounds, but starving while doing it. I ended up struggling with an eating disorder at age 16, most days never going over 900 calories a day. This continued through college and after I got married. I would get severe anxiety planning to go on vacation, or away on a weekend , in fear there wouldn’t be my “special food” available.
Ironically I became a dietitian, always able to help others, but not myself. I even saw a therapist for years to try overcoming the obsessive thoughts and constant fear of gaining weight. Then in 2009 my husband ordered P90X from an infomercial. I did it along with him and lost a lot of my baby weight, about 50 pounds. I became obsessed with these amazing fitness programs! I loved how they came with a simple food plan where I didn’t have to count calories, and access to my own personal free coach! However, in 2011 things got bad again. I wasn’t eating very much and I was exercising a lot. I would weigh myself at least ten times a day, and if I was up more than a few ounces then the day before, I would take laxatives. Even with therapy things weren’t getting better and my doctors suggested an outpatient program for me. I did not do it and continued to struggle, mentally and socially.
Not long after, I became pregnant with my twin girls and had a very complicated pregnancy, and was unable to exercise during my pregnancy. After I had them, even with working out and dieting I was having an awful time taking the weight off. Then the 21 Day Fix came out. I said, “No way am I buying a program that teaches portion control when I am a dietitian.” But clearly what I was doing, wasn’t giving me results! So I said to myself, “This is it. I will give it a try.” I figured, I can give anything a shot for 21 days. I thought “If this doesn’t work, I don’t know what I’m going to do.”
The day after Easter in 2014 I began eating clean, drinking Shakeology, and doing the 21 day fix workout program. The workouts were only 30 minutes, while having twin infants, this was about all I could commit to. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I started sleeping better, threw away the pills for that. I no longer needed my anti-anxiety medication, finally! And to my surprise, the weight finally started dropping! Since that point, I haven’t counted calories and I haven’t obsessed over the scale or my measurements. I feel amazing, mentally and physically. I have not struggled with my eating disorder in TWO YEARS! I don’t deprive myself; in fact I think I am eating more now than I have in a decade. I am so healthy, I feel amazing, and I don’t have that internal mental struggle I have struggled with for SO MANY YEARS. I am down 38 pounds and 50.5 inches+ since having my twin girls. I enjoy pizza or a piece of cake with my family once a week or so ( i refuse to completely give up cake!) and I do n ot feel the constant guilt and anxiety I battled for so many years.
I am the happiest I have been in my entire life. When I started the 21 Day fix and drinking Shakeology, I FINALLY took the plunge and signed up to become a coach. My own coach had asked me for years, but I just wasn’t ready at the time. It fills my heart to know I can help other people succeed with these programs, just like my coach has helped me over the years. I don’t feel like this is my job, I just feel like I am sharing what has worked for me, and thousands of others and giving my support, and helping people with my degree and experience in nutrition. I’m blessed every morning when I wake up to know that I am able to stay home with my kids, and still make an income helping others.
I am now part of a team of amazing women, who support and lift one another up. We have come together and are changing lives, including our own, every day. ANYONE can do this. I am so grateful that I was introduced to this opportunity, it has truly shaped me into the person I am today.
If I can inspire ONE person a day to make a change, then I have fulfilled a purpose. If I can somehow help ANYONE else who has ever struggled like I have, it makes this all worth it. BeachBody has literally given me my life back.
