Making some changes up in here…. Whole 30, black coffee….
So I have taken the PLUNGE… and have committed to the WHOLE 30 program. Today is DAY ONE. I am still doing my fitness program, I’m in my fourth week of Hammer and Chisel. Still drinking my Shakes, I refuse to give that up, as it has been remarkable to my health.
I initially was going to keep this to myself, not share with everyone what I was doing. However, I like to share things that do and do not work for me, and part of my job, is sharing what works for me, with all of you! The reason I wasn’t going to share this journey, I must admit, is because I was afraid of failure. Not having my regular coffee at Starbucks is going to be ROUGH… to say the least. I am also a creature of habit and structure. 21 Day fix was a life changer for me. It helped me recover from an eating disorder. And I have a great hold on things now and control over my eating habits, and know I need to properly fuel my body with food vs starve it. The Fix is a GREAT program. So why fix something that’s not broke? Well there are a few reasons I have taken the plunge into this.
I have been dealing with a LOT of inflammation issues the past 7 years or so. My fingers and hands get very swollen and stiff. I also deal with A LOT of bloating and easily get an upset stomach/reflux. I have learned that eliminating gluten from my diet has taken care a lot of those issues. But I still get the pain and swelling every so often, despite watching what I eat. The WHOLE 30 plan, eliminates many types of foods that can cause silent inflammation, which can come on as so many more symptoms then what I have described. I also have a major sweet tooth, which I would LOVE to kick. If I could be around birthday cake, and pass it up without wanting to attack it, that be just great.
I will be sharing my journey with you. My struggles, my successes, and my recipes of what I am cooking. YES! I AM GOING TO BE COOKING AND TRYING NEW RECIPES! I will also be sharing how I am faring without my regular Starbucks coffee with soy milk and stevia….. as I am typing this… it is 11am, and while I am usually on cup #4 or so, I am on cup #1, trying to get used to drinking it with just a splash of WHOLE 30 approved almond milk. Basically its almonds blended w water… yea… the struggle is real UP IN HERE TODAY. Lets all pray the kids and I survive the day..
